Come help us make new music opportunities for children with SEND and their families! We’d love to invite you to join us for this special pilot project supported by the Sound Connections Innovate funding programme, hosted by Lewisham Music, specially for families who have preschool children presenting as having additional needs or language delay – with siblings also very welcome to take part. It is free to access, and the sessions will take part on Fridays in the summer term, with a 4 week block starting on the 11th June, held at The Fellowship in Bellingham, the base of Lewisham Music. You can choose to join the 10.15 or 11.30 group, with no experience required and all materials provided.

Each session will be a small, welcoming, group, integrating music, song and movement to engage children in a multi-sensory way, using our established Beanstalk framework of delivering high quality, music and storytime sessions for all children and their carers. There will be a different musical traditional story each week, delivered by one of our Beanstalk Arts practitioners using the cello, ukulele and voice, with a colleague also present to observe and evaluate.

We will be carefully reflecting and evaluating our sessions, aiming to ensure we are as welcoming and inclusive as we can be, and will be collecting your feedback and observations to help us make these sessions as enjoyable and useful as possible, and help us plan further projects, and share our findings with other practitioners.

This project is hosted by Lewisham Music Service and funded by Sound Connections. We are only taking block bookings, and it helps us a lot if you can attend all 4 sessions, and we will be operating under covid-safe precautions as necessary for the particular dates of the project. If you have any questions about this project, please do email Becky at becky@beanstalkarts.co.uk.
